Chris O'Brien (2 years, 2 months ago)

I've only been to a few other BJJ places before, but this place was definitely the cleanest, and best maintained despite the actual facilities being a bit old (not so old for London). The facilities are fairly nice overall. Also, compared to other martial arts places I've tried out (including other BJJ), this was much more cardio intensive than I anticipated. By the time we finished conditioning, I felt like I had just done a light CrossFit workout. I thought it was because it was a Saturday morning, but the other students told me that this focus on conditioning was fairly constant and a major differentiating factor- usually the first 30 mins of every session is cardio based, and it must pay off because I am usually one of the best conditioned people in any workout group, but here I was probably below the average of the class. My only complaint is that I was a bit disappointed that the instructors were not more active and hands on in observing and correcting students, either after a technique was taught or during sparing. I believe this was probably because it was a Saturday morning class, and as students said the training is more structured during the week days. I would recommend this to others interested.
